Plant a Tree
In 2009 we’ll plant a tree for every project we do. Our mission is to fill half a football pitch with trees next year.Why?
The carbon management company C02balance worked out that our webcast of a pharmaceutical conference in New Orleans saved 3.789 tonees of C02 for each person who watched online rather than attending. As a tree sequesters (soaks up) around 900Kgs C02 per year, the carbon saving involved was equivalent to planting 333 trees, which would cover half a football pitch, maybe slightly more. In April this year BroadView has launched the PLAN PRODUCE OFFSET campaign to promote a carbon calculator which will enable clients to offset the carbon generated by their productions.
The calculator evaluates the carbon footprint created by a BroadView client’s assignment. By processing relevant data, including travel to meetings, filming and editing time through all stages of a production, the calculator assesses its environmental impact. Clients are then offered the opportunity to offset the carbon footprint by way of a computed contribution to a selection of environmental projects. To know more about the schemes click here .
