B-Roll
When TV stations want to cover your story they need broadcast-quality pictures. Problem: they can’t always be there to get them. Result: no coverage. Solution: B roll – selected rushes material shot to broadcast standards of your event or story, distributed to broadcasters as part of a TV media relations exercise. In this example, footage from Sony’s presence at a major consumer electronics show in Berlin was distributed across Europe, resulting in Sony’s presence featuring more heavily than its rivals.
